Paper Fabric

February 7, 2010

A couple of months ago, my local critique group got together for a ‘play date’.  We made ‘paper fabric’, a technique one of our members read about in a Quilting Arts Magazine email.  We had a lot of fun with it, creating unique fabrics by recycling various tissue, wrappers, and other papers, attaching them to a muslin back.

Paper Prayer is the outcome of my experiment.  I had a great time playing with the colors, and ignoring the rules (nothing new there!)  Enjoy, and please leave a comment with your thoughts on this piece.

  1. We just completed our 3rd Threads of Life Quilt Show. Pictures are not yet posted for the 2010 show, but our guest artist this year was Debra Danko. We will meet in a couple of weeks to talk about next year’s show. In addition to quilts, we hope to expand the 2011 show to include various forms of fiber arts. Would you be interested in participating in next year’s show? Your work is stunning. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks.
